The Africa Israel Partnership (AIP) in collaboration with the Israel Embassy london organised an interncommunity event which was focused on the work carried out by the Israel’s international development agency call MASHAV , the aim of the event was for the members of the Africa community of greater Manchester to be aware of the activities carried out in Africa like in the area of agriculture and eductaion. The event took place on 27th december 2018 at Goodnews House Salford, Greater Manchester.
Ms. Christine Owinyi, Mashav trainee in Israel, specialist in Sustainable Education, was the guest guest speaker from Kenya. She spoke about her experience training with MASHAV and how it has enebled her to carry out projects in Kenya.
It was an opportunity for members of the Africa community to ask questions on how they can actively work closely with Israel through MASHAV.
Other speakers at the event were, Vivian Aisen, the Director of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel in London, Dr Joshua Jama, the chariman of the Pentecostal Community Association (PCA) and Dr Charles Kachitsa the Chairman of the Africa Council ACUK.
There was networking activities between participants and it was agreed that more of these events would
be hosted in order to strenghten the relationship between Israel and the Africa communities.
